Wyatt has been so excited for school to start! We welcomed him to the next 18 years of his life being spent in a classroom and gently reminded him that even Daddy (as old as he is) is STILL in school. lol
They made a school bus out of yellow frosting, graham crackers, oreos and chex cereal. Speaking of school bus they lost him on the first day of school. We couldn't find him for an 1 1/2! Todd called the police department, I pulled the principal and we had family and friends helping us drive around the neighborhood to try to find him! It was very upsetting to say the least. Your Dad's blog is awesome. So I guess I didn't blog about the second day of school when Ryli didn't get off the school bus. She actually wasn't on the bus though. Her teacher had accidentally written the wrong route on her bus bracelet and she was on the wrong bus for the entire route and ended up back at the school. Her driver promised me we would find her and dropped off the rest of the kids at their stops and then came back to my house and we tried calling over his bus radio to find her but it was so jammed up with missing kindergarteners that he couldn’t even get through. I called the school and they said she was right there sitting in the office so her driver went back to the school and picked her up and brought her home on the bus. Good thing because I didn't have a car that day! I didn't even freak out though. I was worried but maybe because how nice everyone is here and how nice the area is, I just knew that there had been a mix up and that I would wait until I needed to to freak out. It has been fine ever since. I taught her who her driver was and she has her route number memorized now so we are good. I love the bus! Dylan and Cade are both sleeping when she leaves and when she gets home so I am just glad I don't have to wake them up in the morning and from their afternoon naps to get her! Glad our dramas are over now though and that Wyatt and Ryli (future Mr. & Mrs. Henderson) are both safe.
ReplyDeleteHow scary! I can't believe that you and Jenni both had missing children within the first week of school and that it had to do with the bus. I'm so thankful that I can take Riley to school and not put him on the bus. This is my reminder why I won't ever do that.
